Yoan Eynaud

Dr.Yoan Eynaud, a post-doctoral researcher at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, is a member of the RTI projects, Benthic Dynamic Modeling and Benthic Community Patterns. Yoan explores coral reef benthic dynamics and how they relate to human impacts and biophysical forcing. Undertaking original research, he develops spatially dynamic models to promote our understanding of coral reef dynamics, specifically addressing questions of coral reef resilience and management. More widely, his work has focused on the importance of complexity in ecological modeling. Originally from France, Yoan spent his M.Sc. years modeling the endosymbiotic relationship found within scleractinian corals through a collaborative project between the Aix-Marseille University and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Because he questioned himself about the mathematical origins of modeling results, he chose to conduct a Ph.D. thesis focused on model complexity analysis at the Aix-Marseille University. Contact Yoan
